Bento Box Japanese Recipes
Bento box (aka japanese box lunch) ideas?
Can anyone give me lunch ideas to eat besides the typical things in bento (rice, octoweenie, fish, etc.). I’m afraid that if I eat rice and fish to much, I’ll start hating it (like I hate PB and J because I eat it about every day for 10 years.). I would like the ideas/recipes to be fairly cheap and easy. Please don’t include peas, lima beans, or cold vegitables (I don’t care the vegitables were hot when they were done cooking and then cool down.).
Also if anyone has any good and easy asian noodle recipes i’d appreciate that to.
I’d rather not have it too cutsie (like hello kitty rice balls). I can’t do things like spam because my mom wont let me buy my own groceries (even though I’m 17) and she hates spam (will not have it in the house.). Please try to give me actuall ideas, not just suggesting a website, its ok if you suggest an idea then give a link for more details on the idea. The ideas don’t have to be asian, it can be from other cultures.
NO SUSHI OR EGGS.
For an easy Japanese bento lunch box try some boiled white rice or onigiri (rice ball) with a rolled omlette and a few small main dishes like karaage (Japanese fried chicken), hamburger, tonkatsu (deep fried pork cutlet), gyoza (dumpling), spring rolls, mini sausages, potato or pasta salad.
