Recipe for making hello kitty cake?

it’s my bestie’s birthday in like 2 months and she’s turning 16. anyhow I’m really wanting to make her a hello kitty cake because I love to bake and the theme for her birthday is hello kitty. How to do so, homemade style? Not many people are going to be at it, like 4 only.

This will be pretty easy. Use a Duncan Hines cake mix (the best) and bake 2 layers as directed in two round cake pans. I would use a white cake mix, but you could use chocolate or yellow cake if you prefer.

Then assemble and frost the layers with white frosting.

To make Hello Kitty:

Use the graphic attached here as a guide. With black licorice strings, outline Hello Kitty’s face on top of the frosted cake, cutting shorter pieces if you need for whiskers and the bow. Use red gel frosting to fill in the bow. Use 2 black jellybeans for eyes and a white jellybean or a circle of licorice string for her nose.

Of course, you could also make cupcakes instead and draw Hello Kitty’s face with black gel instead of licorice. Then you would need two mini black and one white jelly beans (Jelly Belly size) for the eyes and nose. When I need only a few jelly beans, I buy them in the bulk candy aisle so I don’t have to pay for an entire package.
