Hello Kitty Digital Camera Target
Have any of y’all bought the Hello Kitty 7.1 digital camera, from Target, for your kids?
It’s only $40. I have been promising my daughter a camera for a long time…but, I can’t find reviews on this particular model. There are lots of bad reviews for previous versions of it, but it seems the complaints people have had about it have been resolved. ex: image stabilizer, flash…
Yiiii — with so many awful reviews, why even consider it? Resolved, eh, why patronise a company that was selling such garbage to children in the first place?
We got a “Lego” digital camera as a present — it was broken straight out of the package. It was made by a company called “Digital Blue.” I cannot begin to explain how much disgust I have for the “Digital Blue” people, who were total sh!ts. I ended up writing to the Lego people to complain. (Lego was very nice, but still needs to choose better quality manufacturers for its licensed stuff.) Based on that experience I would never buy a ‘toy’ digital camera again. It did take some pix before it shut itself off, and, looking at the reviews for the Hello Kitty camera, I am suspecting it’s the same manufacturer, same camera. Your kid will be in tears, frustrated over how bad the pictures turn out. And these cheapie kiddie cameras are not as sturdy as one might hope; the construction is cheap and a bad drop will mean breakage just like with a ‘real’ camera.
Why not just get a used grown-up’s camera? My old ‘Kodak Easyshare’ is probably about $40 on eBay, and would be just right for a little kid.
