Hello Kitty Janome Sewing Machine

Will any brand of foot attach to my sewing machine?

I have a small 3/4 Hello Kitty Janome sewing machine. I only have the most basic foot, and I would like to buy more complicated ones, like a ruffler foot and a freestyle foot. I would like to know if any brand will be compatible with my machine, or if I will have to find a janome brand just for this model. Also, where would I find the cheapest one. I don’t need extremely high tech stuff. Anything that will give me the ability to ruffle/se freestyle will work. Thanx! :)
I checked, and my machine has a snap on foot. does that mean that any type of snap on foot will work? what is the cheapest price I can get a ruffler/freestyle sewing foot for?

EDITED TO ADD: You can get snap-on feet and others at JoAnn Fabrics for a reasonable price.

However, the ruffler and darning/free motion feet all have to be fastened to the shaft with the screw that is now holding the shank for the snap-on feet.

ORIGINAL ANSWER: Here is a chart showing how to tell if the machine is a low shank or high shank. http://www.clotilde.com/pages/which_foot.html

I have bought generic feet from this site based on the type of shank on my sewing machine.

You can also check the feet sold at JoAnn – I have also used those.

Carefully open the package, and if the foot does not work, it can be returned – no postage or waiting on the mail.

I have used the feet from Clotilde on an old Singer, and the feet from Joann on current models of Babylock, Elna and Singer.

There is no difference between the brands – Bernina is the only exception.
