Hello Kitty One Piece
Is there any way to tell if my 9-10 year old kitty is going blind?
One of my cats is nine or ten years old. Lately she seems to have trouble seeing. I was eating chicken the other day and tried giving her a little piece. I showed it to her, and sat it down next to her paws as I do when I feed her little pieces of people food. She didn’t touch it. She was next to me begging for some so It’s not like she wasn’t hungry (shes a little fatty).
Along with that, she meows loudly, almost like she’s saying “hello” in a meow whenever I go up to my room or leave home. But if I take her up to my room with her and she runs away, she doesn’t cry.
She doesn’t run into anything like she’s blind, but maybe she’s starting to slowly lose her sight? She comes to me when I yell for her, but she could be using her other senses there.
Is there any way I can tell by looking at her?
I plan on bringing her to the vet when Winter is over, she is due for her shots and plan to ask the vet then.
Firstly you can check for cloudy eyes
Secondly, wash your hands (to get rid of anything that might smell) just sit down with her, no distractions and move your finger slowly from left to right, up and down for a while and see if she follows it
