How can i make my room look cool?

Im kinda into scene stuff, i hate labels but i guess if that helps, i mean i really like hello kitty and paramore, gloomy bear neon colors ya know? so i have pink hello kitty sheets : http://www.cutiegadget.com/wp-content/up… , excepts i have 3 white pillows and one HK pillow, then i have a desk that i put a black blanket over it and i like in, with a orange butterfly chair which i like too, now imagine a square room with two beds side to side with about 2 and a half feet apart, thats how it is in my room with this really ugly table in the middle {i covered it with a cute little thing of material} with a radio on it, my closet is facing the ends of our bed and since there is so little room i have a dresser in the middle and it divides me and my sisters stuff, i like my room but how can i make it cooler, by the way its a rental

It sounds like you’re already doing a pretty creative job, working within the limitations of space and ownership. Hello Kitty has really expanded lately, and you can find things in either pretty pastels or vivid colors.

Here are my suggestions:

.. Try for a unified color scheme. Considering the background of your walls, select two or three nice colors and use them for accents. New pillow cases in your colors against a light-colored bedspread would look cool.

.. It would involve some work with sanding and priming, but if your table and desk have good “bones”, you could paint them with your favorite colors. A paint store would be willing to show you how to do it right, with a minimum of mess.

.. If you don’t like the color of your walls, would you be allowed to paint them a light neutral color such as ivory or white? That would make a great background for your color ideas.
