Cheap ways to give my bedroom a make-over.?

okay so I have grown up a bit and I am sick of my current room theme, Hello Kitty. So, I would lik to remodel my room but for a cheap price. The new theme I am thinking of is stuff with the colors: pink black and white. I asked for a zebra print blanket for Christmas but I am not sure yet if I am going to get it. Anyway, I would not lik to repaint my walls, add new flooring or buy furniture although i will buy small things that are needed to spice up my room. I would also luv to get cute wall stickers to put on my wall but I am 2 lazy 2 buy any so if u have any ideas on how to make some at home, plz tell me.

First off, if you really want a nice change you need to put in at least some work so you need to stop being lazy. One thing you can do for the walls that is cheaper than stickers and more custom is to stencil it. Just do one wall, like the one behind your bed. You can buy stencils at places like Joann Fabrics or Michaels craft stores — get something floral, paisley or fleur-de-lis (that French design) and black or darker pink paint with a stiff brush (you can get these at the craft stores too). Then use a tape measure and a long stick to measure a grid on the wall with light pencil or chalk that you will be able to wipe off when you are done. Lay out the wall in 24″ x 24″ squares and stencil a design at each place where the lines cross.

You could also put wallpaper on just one wall — go to paint supply or home goods stores like Lowes and Home Depot or a wallpaper outlet and get 1 or 2 rolls of pre-glued wallpaper. It’s not that hard to put up — the folks in the store will tell you how and you could do it in one evening.

For accessories, go to stores like the home goods departments of TJ MAxx, Marshalls, Ross and Burlington and look for cute throw pillows in the colors and designs you like (usually less than $10 each). Even Pier One has them on sale quite often. Also look for small framed mirrors or pictures to hang on the walls and pretty lampshades to update your lamps. Another way to get a big change for a little bit of money is to look for bold print sheets. You can sew two flat sheets together on three sides to make a duvet cover over an old quilt or blanket. If the two sheets are different designs it will be reversible for another look. Get matching or coordinating pattern pillow cases and an extra twin flat sheet or two to make curtains for your windows. Or get plain roller window shades, buy fabric you like (either sheets or by the yard at a fabric store) and glue it to the shades with Elmer’s white glue or a spray adhesive.

There are lots of things you can do without a lot of money BUT you will have to make at least a little effort.
