trademark or copyright infringement?
My friend Bethany makes stuff and sells them online through her little ebay store. She has made a few Hello Kitty things and has sold them. I told her that she might get into trouble by the Sanrio company but she said that she had already contacted them and they said she wouldn’t as long as she didn’t start a big business out of it. Is this true? Can she not get into trouble by selling her handmade items even though they are Hello Kitty which is a creation made by Sanrio?
They would have had to give her expressed written consent.
The story seems unlikely to me.
